    What I would like to do is hook up a 12 volt motor from a golf cart to a 12 volt dc battery and have a timer to ture it on and off for a certain period of time.

    I’ve put batteries in quite a few golf carts. Hate to tell you this but they usually run a 36 volt motor that gets it’s power supply from 6 batteries wired in series. But you can buy any number of 12 volt dc motors. You need to know how much torque and what rpms you want to run at. Timers are no trouble to buy and very easy to set up. Hope this helps!

    You just need to hook it up to a battery charger and turn it up on engine cranking and it should do. The older it is the more volts it may take but make sure it is dc volts. Then if it doesn’t work try turning it a little to get it started then if doesn’t work throw it away it doesn’t work.

    i belive you need a varible resistor like you would use to turn the radio up or down ,perhaps a twist grip can be used to control the motor speed with one of the sliding types and a good spring to return to off when he lets go of twist grip

    How can I rewire an old 12 volt car generator to run as a 12 volt motor? It has 2 brushes.?

    I tried hooking it to a 12 volt car battery last night and it won’t start turning. This generator has windings instead of permanent magnets, does that change things.

    will blocking the output of a dc 12 volt brushless motor hurt it or make it get hot and burn up?
    I was wondering if while using a dc 12 volt 1 amp. [brushless motor] for ventilation and the duct work becomes blocked or partially blocked or completley blocked will this heat up the motor to the point of hurting it or causing it to become damaged?If the output becomes blocked and the motor stop’s turning then will it get hot like a motor with brushes?

    possibly, depends on where the block is, how big the ducts are, lots of unknowns.

    Best to monitor the speed of the motor. If it slows down a lot, then it could overheat.

    I need advice on what 12 volt motor and battery to make a small childs wagon move under it own power .?
    I have a wagon I bought from home depot and i want to turn it into and electric drive wagon. I have tried a Razor ( A kids scooter ) motor and battery and it does not work like I want it to . It will baley move it. If there is any one own here that can let me know what motor and battery to use will be greatly appreciated and where to buy them. THANKS .
