Alternative Energy Projects Finance

There are numerous advantages and benefits to mankind in developing alternative energy sources. While many countries have started down the track of setting up resources and infrastructure to develop alternative energy such as bio fuels, wind and water as well as solar power there is still huge scope to increases the levels of energy created.

Mankind's technological progress and our developing societies as a result have come along way by harnessing energy for electricity and using fuel to power vehicles we have created the ability for huge industries. To date these industries have relied on nonalternative power sources such as fossil fuels.

These sources are extracted from the ground and need to be processed so we can harness the fuel and electricity. They are commonly referred to as coal, natural gas and hydrocarbon fuels. We rely on them heavy and the costs are pollution and usage of our natural resources, which are not infinite.

Perhaps one of the biggest stumbling blocks in developing alternative energy is the cost some third world countries and even private companies that seek to find independence from hydro carbon created energy don't have the necessary funds to be able to do so, this is where alternative energy finance comes into play.

By selling surplus energy created to other business you can offset costs and some large power generating companies will even buy excess energy off you. With the looming threat of global warning and possible peak oil production being reached There has never been a better time to seek financing for alternative energy projects, whether it be an ethanol energy project, wind farm turbines, hydro electric, coal bed methane, seam gas, green energy, sustainable energy, feothermal energy, hot rock energy, or clean coal.

Before applying for finance for any project you first need to have completed all research and have a development blueprint but there are many experts out there that can consult with you on how to achieve this. Governments around the world are desperately backing alternative energy projects, but banks won't give you a fair go - they see alternative energy projects as providing poor returns, or say the project teams lack experience!

The time for action is now before the natural resources mankind relies on for energy manufacture is totally depleted. Mankind must also stop the damage being done to our planet through the high pollution traditional energy manufacture causes.

If we wait till the fossil fuels are totally depleted before we develop sustainable alternative energy sources we may see a return to the horse and carriage days and having to resort for candles for light and indoor fires for heating.

We must all take responsibility now before its too late or we will see a huge reduction in our population and backward steps in our society functions as a whole as we are totally reliant on fossil fuels not only to power our own vehicles but to transport food and other goods globally.

Thankfully there are companies that are willing to help others by providing the finance needed for individuals or companies to develop highly needed alternative energy sources

do you think alternative energy resources have a bright future?
do you think alternative energy resources have a bright future?is the phase of technological innovation of these alternative energy resources fast enough?

  2. Nick says:

Consider at least three of the following alternative energy resources?
    Nuclear
    Solar
    Wind
    Hydro
    Wave
    Geothermal
    Biomass

Determine and compare the advantages and disadvantages. Then, decide which type of alternative energy resource would be best used in your area of the state or country.

  3. JaneDoe; says:

Why is it important to study alternative energy resources?
Its a warm up question from earth science but im not quite sure what the answer is, help pleasee?

  4. Kyle says:

Could anyone give me any examples of Alternative Energy Resources?
I need any examples of alternative energy. No matter how unusual, unheard of or anything. If it is something you have like that, please specify. Thanks.

solar, easy to come by, plentiful.

hydro, easy to set up, used for years, some areas dont have it

wind, easy to come by, used for years, some areas dont have it

geothermal, some areas dont have it

wait..am i doing your homework here?

No doubt about it. Solar power technology is projected to become 40% more efficient by 2010, and offshore wind power is becoming a viable option.

California is a great example. In fact, just yesterday I was checking out the energy mix from my utility company (PG&E). They get 34% of their energy from renewable sources, 24% from nuclear, 40% from natural gas, and just 1% from coal:

Congress just passed legislation to require power companies to get 15% of their power from renewables

and with global warming getting more and more attention, the future of renewable energy is very bright.

  7. Koalite says:

Our current primary source of energy is fossil fuels or dead organic matter from long ago. There’s only so much of this that’s left on the Earth and with increasing globalization, population, and development, we may soon exhaust this energy source. If we do not find an efficient and renewable source of energy that can replace fossil fuels soon, there may be no source of energy to provide us with electricity and gas.

Additionally, fossil fuels, when burned or processed, produce wastes that are harmful to the environment.

  8. Scott O says:

i just did a speech about a possible alternative energy that can be coming soon. Bacteria. they can be engineered to take in our wastes and turn it into energy or even fuels like octane.

they are easy and cheap as well since you can just grow them, and are able to repair themselves if damaged. so they will make good batteries when we can harness them.

What are 5 alternative energy resources in relation to Hybrid cars?

  10. Breath on the Wind says:

Hybrid cars can be made in a number of ways. Most commonly they are gas/electric hybrids. Gasoline in the US is mixed with 10% ethanol: a biofuel that is considered an alternative energy source.

But it is possible to use a diesel engine to make a hybrid diesel/electric. In the diesel engine it would be possible to use bio diesel instead of petrochemical diesel. Biodiesel is considered and alternative energy fuel.

Many hybrids make their electricity on board and the vehicle is never plugged in to recharge the batteries. However some of the anticipated models and some conversions will have increased battery sizes that will allow the vehicles to operate not as a hybrid but as a purely electric vehicle for some initial mileage. During that time they will be using electricity from the grid. Grid electricity can be produced in a number of ways. Some of those ways are considered alternative energy. Although hydroelectricity is a solid portion of our electrical production it is an alternative to coal, oil and gas, the fossil fuels. Solar power in many different forms is clearly alternative energy. Some of the ways electricity is produced from solar power are:

    Power tower
    parabolic trough solar collector
    parabolic dish solar collector
    solar chimney
    solar pond
    and solar photovoltaic panels.

Some of the new hybrids have solar panels built into the car although this is not considered particularly efficient.

While a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle might not normally be considered a hybrid there is some basis for considering it to be a hybrid. In a series hybrid one power sources feeds into another. A gasoline engine that runs a generator that feeds an electric motor and batteries is a series hybrid. By substituting the hydrogen fuel cell for the gasoline engine and adding hydrogen instead of gasoline to produce the electricity we may essentially have the same thing. 95% of current hydrogen is made from oil gas and coal but it can be made from dividing the elements of water. If this were done with solar energy the balance would be an alternative energy resource if not quite a “fuel.”

Another configuration for hybrid vehicles is compressed air/electric or gas or diesel. The compressed air like hydrogen is an energy carrier and not a fuel. But one of the primary ways to store wind energy that has been proposed is compressed air. This compressed air could be used to power a generator (and produce electricity) but it could be used to power a vehicle.
