Author: Dennis Yew
Samuel Langhorne Clemens, also known as Mark Twain, was born in Florida on 30th November 1835. Out of seven children, he was the sixth one. He is not only known for his writing but also was a famous journalist and humor. He is known to produce magical writing which attracted worldwide audience and earned him as being a famous writer. Till today Twain is remember greatly and his work read by many.
Twain made a lot of money through his writings. Some of his famous workings were The Gilded Age, Life on the Mississippi, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, A Tramp Abroad, The Prince and the Pauper, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, and Huckleberry Finn. A large portion of this money was lost due to bad investments. These investments were mainly due to investments in new technologies especially the Paige typesetting machine. It was an engineered mechanical device that was known to amaze the viewers when working. The problem with this device was that it was prone to a lot of breakdowns and so Mark Twain spent a huge sum of 0,000 on the device. Before the device was perfected, the device was replaced by Linotype in the market. Due to this, Mark Twain lost a huge portion of profits made by his books as well as large portion of money inherited from his wife Livy.Mark Twain was very much fascinated with the science. He developed strong friendship with Nikola Tesla. He along with Tesla spent a lot of time in Tesla's laboratory. Twain is said to have invented a new steam engine type, Kaolatype and infants bed clamp.
Another source of Twain's financial trouble was publishing house. He also lost a huge portion of money through the publishing house. The publishing house enjoyed a lot of initial success by selling Ulysses S. Grant memories. Soon after this initial success, the publishing house broke and lost a lot of money. This was because of the idea that similar to selling memories of Ulysses S. Grant. It was thought that the public would now be interested and buy the biography of Pope Leo XIII. The idea was back fired and only less than hundreds copies sold.
To recover financially, Mark Twain started delivering lectures along with his writings. Along with his new friend he recovered financially. The lost lasting friendship in 1893 with Henry Huttleston Rogers, a financier, who was the Standard Oil's principal. The recovery process began with Henry asking Twain to file for the bankruptcy. After this he asked Twain to his written works' copyrights to his wife. This prevented the creditors from getting possession of his works. Then, Rogers went on to take charge of Twain's money completely till all creditors were paid.
Finally, to completely pay off all creditors, Twain went on to deliver lectures worldwide, despite the fact that Twain was not under any legal obligations. In 1900, Twain then returned back to America after he had earned enough for paying off his financial debts.

Fascinating. He obviously had a remarkable knack. His amazing contributions to engineering testify to it. Thank you for posting this.
The way he was treated by the establishment is unforgivable. He died pauper in a SRO Hotel in New York City, in 1947, after having contributed the greatest inventions in history. We are all in debt to him.

nikola tesla.?????
the passage below comes from nikola tesla’s autobiography can you read it and post your oppinion (about his problem) it is quite intresting.
* * *
“In my boyhood I suffered from a peculiar affliction due to the appearance of images, often accompanied by strong flashes of light, which marred the sight of real objects and interfered with my thought and action. They were pictures of things and scenes which I had really seen, never of those I imagined. When a word was spoken to me the image of the object it designated would present itself vividly to my vision and sometimes I was quite unable to distinguish whether what I saw was tangible or not. This caused me great discomfort and anxiety. None of the students of psychology or physiology whom I have consulted could ever explain satisfactorily these phenomena. They seem to have been unique altho I was probably predisposed as I know that my brother experienced a similar trouble. .
The theory I have formulated is that the images were the result of a reflex action from the brain on the retina under great excitation. They certainly were not hallucinations such as are produced in diseased and anguished minds, for in other respects I was normal and composed. To give an idea of my distress, suppose that I had witnest a funeral or some such nerve-racking spectacle. Then, inevitably, in the stillness of night, a vivid picture of the scene would thrust itself before my eyes and persist despite all my efforts to banish it. Sometimes it would even remain fixt in space tho I pushed my hand thru it. If my explanation is correct, it should be able to project on a screen the image of any object one conceives and make it visible. Such an advance would revolutionize all human relations. I am convinced that this wonder can and will be accomplished in time to come; I may add that I have devoted much thought to the solution of the problem.
it continues:
“The theory I have formulated is that the images were the result of a reflex action from the brain on the retina under great excitation. They certainly were not hallucinations such as are produced in diseased and anguished minds, for in other respects I was normal and composed. To give an idea of my distress, suppose that I had witnest a funeral or some such nerve-racking spectacle. Sometimes it would even remain fixt in space tho I pushed my hand thru it. I am convinced that this wonder can and will be accomplished in time to come; I may add that I have devoted much thought to the solution of the problem.
IT CONTINUES:
“To free myself of these tormenting appearances, I tried to concentrate my mind on something else I had seen, and in this way I would often obtain temporary relief; but in order to get it I had to conjure continuously new images. It was not long before I found that I had exhausted all of those at my command; my “reel” had run out, as it were, because I had seen little of the world–only objects in my home and the immediate surroundings. As I performed these mental operations for the second or third time, in order to chase the appearances from my vision, the remedy gradually lost all its force. Then I instinctively commenced to make excursions beyond the limits of the small world of which I had knowledge, and I saw new scenes. These were at first very blurred and indistinct, and would flit away when I tried to concentrate my attention upon them, but by and by I succeeded in fixing them;
IT CONTINUES:
“they gained in strength and distinctness and finally assumed the concreteness of real things. I soon discovered that my best comfort was attained if I simply went on in my vision farther and farther, getting new impressions all the time, and so I began to travel–of course, in my mind. Every night (and sometimes during the day), when alone, I would start on my journeys–see new places, cities and countries–live there, meet people and make friendships and acquaintances and, however unbelievable, it is a fact that they were just as dear to me as those in actual life and not a bit less intense in their manifestations.
This I did constantly until I was about seventeen when my thoughts turned seriously to invention. Then I observed to my delight that I could visualize with the greatest facility. I needed no models, drawings or experiments. I could picture them all as real in my mind. Thus I have been led unconsciously to evolve what I consider a new method of material
IT CONTINUES:
“evolve what I consider a new method of materializing inventive concepts and ideas, which is radically opposite to the purely experimental and is in my opinion ever so much more expeditious and efficient. The moment one constructs a device to carry into practise a crude idea he finds himself unavoidably engrost with the details and defects of the apparatus. As he goes on improving and reconstructing, his force of concentration diminishes and he loses sight of the great underlying principle. Results may be obtained but always at the sacrifice of quality.
IT CONTINUES:
“My method is different. I do not rush into actual work. When I get an idea I start at once building it up in my imagination. I change the construction, make improvements and operate the device in my mind. It is absolutely immaterial to me whether I run my turbine in thought or test it in my shop. I even note if it is out of balance. There is no difference whatever, the results are the same. In this way I am able to rapidly develop and perfect a conception without touching anything. When I have gone so far as to embody in the invention every possible improvement I can think of and see no fault anywhere, I put into concrete form this final product of my brain. Invariably my device works as I conceived that it should, and the experiment comes out exactly as I planned it. In twenty years there has not been a single exception. Why should it be otherwise?
I didn’t hear about Nikola Tesla until I was in college. I didn’t read about him from any text book either, but instead heard about him from my electronics instructor. Since then, I have tried to understand why our education system is deliberately trying to keep us in the dark on this subject as well as others. In extreme cases we may even find ourselves being lied to. Apparently, those who have gained power, do not consider the populous, of a high enough intelligence to have access to true knowledge. Instead, we are fed, misleading and contradictory information, to baffle and bewilder us: thus keeping us in check, as their servants and no more.
Aside from some of Tesla’s more well known achievements, there are some areas of his work that have been deemed “Top Secret” and “Classified” by our government. Some of those areas include teleportation of people and inanimate objects, invisibility, and time travel.
In one of his last projects (Wardenclyffe), he attempted to harness the energy from earths electromagnetic grid. He was aware that the earth forms a giant generator whose energy can be tapped if one could cut through its magnetic field. There is evidence that an ancient civilization had already constructed the infrastructure of an energy grid system that could do just what Tesla was trying to accomplish. This is what the Pyramids around the world are thought to be: Towers for cutting into the planets magnetic fields for harnessing energy. It is said that Tesla often used ancient Sanskrit terminology to describe natural phenomena. He was versed in the nature of matter, antimatter, and the makeup of atomic structure that are described in the Vedas; a collection of writings, found in India, consisting of, among other things, dissertations on science and the nature of reality. The writings date back thousands of years and are thought, by Hindu, “not human compositions”.

To the best of my understanding, it was Tesla himself that chose to abandon his free energy project. Apparently, he felt that if man, our military in particular, got a hold of this technology, they would use it for destructive purposes, much like Atomic power was in later years. Although, there is also good reason to believe that powerful men were not too keen of an invention that would provide “Free” energy, since it would interfere in their quest for money, power and control of the populous. They had already put their stakes in the internal combustion engine and oil. Coincidently, it is some of those same people’s families who run the world today to its detriment.

Upon Tesla’s death, much of his writings and work were confiscated by our government, on the grounds of national security; it was during WWII. Still, many of his published works, in the form of patents, are available from the U.S. patent office.

Why isn’t Nikola Tesla in our History Books?
I was reading my American History book yesterday. We were on the Industrial Revolution of the late 1800s. I was surprised to see Thomas Edison mentioned and not Tesla.
Edison might have invented the lightbulb, but Nikola Tesla powered it with his invention of alternating current. My history book also mentioned Macroni used the first radio waves. In 1943, the Supreme Court ruled Nikola Tesla had the discovery first. I find it strange the truth isn’t in my “educational” book.
Does this mean that truly the corporations rule the politics and education? I always knew the economy had a big rule in politics, but I didn’t think it would be big enough to justify a huge lie like this.
Here is a link with good information. I found it very truthful with his autobiography and other information sources. Although, it does leave some details of his life out.

If you have any insight. Please leave it here.
Where can I find an original copy of this book?
There’s an autobiography of Nikola Tesla called “My Inventions: Te Autobiography of Nikola Tesla” and it was recently reprinted and released. I don’t want a new copy – I want an original. Any idea where I can get one and for how much?
i know it exists – i searched it on barnes and nobel and got 16 results, all within the last 20 years
You won’t find George Westinghouse or John Browning mentioned in the history books you read in school either. Most of the history taught in school is political history. The history of social development, science and technology, the arts or almost anything else is given little space in the public school history course.
