When one thinks of a windmill you probably have an image of Holland, where for years windmills have been commonplace and were used originally for turning mill stones to produce flour and crush grain. The windmill I recent times has been sprouting up not one at a time but by the dozen in the often seen awind farmsa across the globe.
Often standing 90 metres tall or more, these wind turbines are being installed by developers and even farmers as a business opportunity. The power generated from these turbines is fed into the national grid and the farmer gets paid for this service.
These wind turbines are on a large scale, but what can the householder do when on a limited budget. There are many who wish to do their part for the environment but simply don't have sufficient funds to make the change over to renewable energy sources. Luckily enough to power the average size home using a windmill doesn't require much equipment or money to set up. Take a bicycle wheel without tyre. Make it horizontally in its axiel. Connect sum bigger size funel about 4 or six in its outer surface. Make it to rotate it in the wind.Use a cycle dinamo or any other small d.c motor or generator to fix in it. When the wheel rotates you get electricity power.

one thing you will have to consider is that modern car alternators put out like 14.5 VDC and have a “turn on speed” of around 2000 rpm. So you will need to spin the alternator really fast in order to get anything out of it.
It can, and experimenters often use them or old car generators.

Making your own energy from a wind mill these days is quite easy, I personally haven’t done it because I live in an apartment however my brother has, he also build his own solar panels to reduce his power bills significantly as he is a single dad he needs to budget all the money he can.
