Electricity 4 Gas - Electric Car Motor Conversion

Aside from the rising fuel prices, fossil fuels are beginning to become depleted and our environment is also slowly deteriorating due to massive carbon emissions from cars which contribute to global warming.

Electric cars are different from gasoline-powered vehicles in terms of their sources of power. Gasoline-powered vehicles, from the name itself, are powered by gasoline. These conventional vehicles have a gasoline engine which is replaced by an electric motor in electric cars. The electric motor is perhaps the single most important part of the electric car. There are principally two main types of motors for the electric car conversion - the AC and the DC conversion systems.

The basic electric car conversion kit comes with a motor, a battery, and a control mechanism. The batteries can be charged using the energy generated by the original engine of the car or by plugging the car in a separate wall outlet.

The idea of retrofitting your existing car to run on electricity is quite a simple process, which involves the removal of the internal combustion engine in order for it to be replaced with an electric motor. Since the engine is gone, all the connecting or associated components such as the gas tank, fuel lines, radiator, fuel pump, and exhaust pipe are to be removed as well. The motor is connected directly to the existing transmission unit. A series of deep cycle batteries are used to power the electric motor. To supply sufficient power to the motor, ten to fifteen units of lead acid batteries may be necessary.

Performing an electric car motor conversion is not that difficult. You can always refer to electric car kits to give you the correct procedures and complete electric car conversion instructions.

    What do you mean by “magnet generator”? if you mean one of those fakes one sees on U-tube, they produce no power at all, That is not a guess, it is a fact.

    how much does the average magnet generator put out? and how much does a car electric motor need to work normal?
    okay i need to know how much a magnet generator can put out to c if a couple of em could run a electric car motor , for an actual car not play car, cause i have the suplies but i dont wanna waste my time. please dont guess only if u know.

    Electric cars can use AC or DC motors… If the motor is a DC motor, then it may run on anything from 96 to 192 volts, if it is an AC motor, then it probably is a three-phase AC motor running at 240 volts AC with a 300 volt battery pack. DC installations tend to be simpler and less expensive.

    There are three types classified according to their diameter they are Warp 9,warp11 and warp 13.The construction of all the three is quite similar.
    Warp 9: This is a 9.25″ diameter DC motor with double shaft and the tail shaft also has a 1/4 – 20 bolt hole to mount the sensors or secure couplers and accessories.
    Warp 11: This is a 11.45″ diameter, series wound DC motor with a double ended shaft and the tail shaft has a 1/4 – 20 bolt hole to mount the sensors or secure couplers and accessories.
    Warp 13: This is a 13.25″ diameter, series wound DC motor with a double ended shaft and the tail shaft also has a 1/4 – 20 bolt hole to mount the sensors or secure couplers and accessories.

    how many watts does an electric car motor draw on average at any given time?
    Im trying to find out the power consumption in watts at any given time for an electric car motor. Only thing i could find was kwh usage over a given number of miles, which i found 5.75 miles per 1kwh used

    The horse power depends on how much current you are running through how many motors. Transmissions are not required in electric cars. The amount of torque is pretty much consistent from start to max speed. If you had a motor at each of the four wheels, you will have a very good acceleration rate. When you talk about efficiency rate, HP should not be mentioned.

    What is the difference in H.P. between a gasoline engine car and a electric motor car to get to 0-60 in a given amount ot time? A electric driven car doesn’t have a transmission, differential, and is driven right at the wheels.
