    How do I figure out the watts I need for a home electrical generator?
    If there are other factors for deciding on which generator to buy, I would appreciate that, too. I’m a novice at electrical hookups and needs, but I’m in New Hampshire, and a generator is necessary.

    I was just thinking that if you set something spinning in space it keeps turning, so does this mean once you started an electrical generator turning would you get ‘free’ energy??

    How does an electrical generator actually produce electrons? I understand the fact that there are two magnets, one facing north, the other facing south, which creates a magnetic field which will keep electrical current in place, I also understand that there is a conductive loop of wire, such as copper or aluminum that rotates on a shaft between the two magnets.

    What I don’t understand is how electrons are actually being produced? Are they being somehow sucked in from surrounding atoms, such as the air, if so, how does this exactly work? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    It would work more efficiently in space, but you don’t get free energy. The increase in efficiency is also going to be quite small: the only difference between a vacuum and on earth is basically aerodynamic drag. Modern designs of generators closely resemble a spinning disk, so its aerodynamic drag is already negligible to start with.

    Anybody know where generators of various sizes can be bought?

    I want just the part that generates electricity when the central shaft is spun, not the gas-powered generator you can buy at Home Depot.

    I tried the gas-powered generator manufacturers, but the only parts they sell are related to the engine.

    I power my house with a 7kW generator that connects via a 12 circuit transfer panel. It has all the necessities plus several comfort items. I can watch satellite TV and surf the net while others nearby don’t have water to flush a toilet.

    I googled “replacement generator head” to get the source. The word “head” is the key. It refers to only the generator and not the combination of the engine and generator.
