PV Solar As One Of The Richest Forms Of Renewable Energy

Author: karlo

In order to convert solar radiation to direct current electricity, it requires the use of PVs, or photovoltaic material. Many different types of material are combined to create the photovoltaic cell. Due to the most recent demand for renewable energy, the manufacture of these cells has dramatically increased. There production has been steadily increasing since 2002 each year. Read on and find out how PV solar is one way to conserve natural resources in the future.

Photovoltaics create solar power by using solar cells to convert the energy from the sun into electricity that we can use. They do this by the process of photovoltaic effect. This effect explains that photons of light roughly moving electrons into an higher state of energy that will then create the electricity. An inverter is necessary to convert the direct current (DC) electricity to alternating (AC) current.

Photovoltaics are created by using many different types of materials. Different types include but are not limited to cadmium telluride, copper indium selenide, polycrystalline silicon, etc. Polycrystalline silicon is one major contributor to the solar panel. By 2006, half the supply in the world was being used for creation of the solar panel. There were only twelve factories in production of the material in 2008.

An increase of twenty percent yearly is quite impressive for the photovoltaic, and this has been the case since 2002. It is considered to be one of the most rapidly growing types of renewable energy in the world. By the end of 2009, there were several installations that had photovoltaics installed and generated approximately 21,000 megawatts of power.

There are many countries in support of the photovoltaic as a source of renewable energy. In fact, there are several different governments that are providing incentives to both businesses and citizens to install packages. With the advancement of technology and the increase in manufacturing products, the prices have fallen to a more reasonable rate.

It was stated that in 2008, solar power was able to provide the world with up to a thousand time what they would need, and yet it only supplied two tenths of that. By those statistics, we are wasting valuable renewable energy every year. Current predictions state that those figures will double every couple of years. Solar energy could be the main source of power in the world.

Some would say that solar power is not predictable, however, they are able to predict with exceptional accuracy when it will and will not be available. Other sources of renewable energy can also be used in conjunction with the photovoltaics. This has been proven successful in large power plants.

    Can’t find figures for Maine.

USA-wide, there is far more wind power than solar power:

    Over 34,000MW USA-wide, with 175MW in Maine:

They think solar across the US could hit 28GW by 2016:

And that’s with very fast growth and most of that will be in the sourth.

So I’m going to go with wind.

Very. Using non renewable resources is about like draining Earth’s fuel tanks. Once they’re empty, we can not just pull up to the nearest planetary gas station and fill up. Renewable energy will be necessary for the continuation of human civilization. It will also foster a more open energy environment where monopolistic corporations will not be in control.

wind energy is good, it is noisy and people do not like to look at the windmills
    biogas is good
alcohol in gasoline is not good
    solar is good
    water power is good
We are not using what we should because of the oil lobbies.

you cannot it, if it is non renewable then it is being taken from our earth, and if it is taken it cannot come back (some just not for several million years) so our earth is without it… you see the earth isn’t in its original form, change is the problem, that is why we are experiencing all kinds of problems with our world we are taking things that should be left alone, and we are messing with the critical makeup of our planet earth. so in short taking things that cannot come back cannot help us.

    Hope i helped!

Compare the advantages and disadvantages of using different forms of renewable energy.?
Could you provide me with a couple examples, and why we don’t use these as main sources.

How important is existence of renewable forms of energy considering a rapidly growing demand for energy?
The price for gas and oil is constantly increasing.

How can we use non- renewable forms of energy to help the environment?
ummm I need this answerr reallly fastt sooooo thankkk youuu guyss!!!

  8. Jen-jenz says:

What is the most used form of renewable energy: solar or wind power? (In Maine, USA)?
what is most used form of energy in Maine? Wind vs. Solar Energy? Which produces most megawatts, and which is owned more? No oppinions please, just please have proof. (websites, books ect)
