Stone To Test Gold
There are lots of ways to test gold. Because gold is also one of the precious stones that we have we need to make sure that you are getting the value of your money.
We all know that a real gold is really expensive. You need to spend thousands of money just to get a small piece of gold. That is why lots of jewelers are using different ways to test gold.
Some of the jewelers use acid, electronic devices and some are using a special stone to test gold. The stone that are being used to test gold is a dark stone. It is used to test the karat of gold as well as silver and even platinum.
How to use the gold test stone?
To use it you just need to rub the pieces of gold to the stone. If you see a yellow strike on the dark stone that means it is pure gold.
Some jewelers are also using magnet to test gold. They will hold a magnet near the stone and see if it will attract the gold. If it will that means there are other metals that are included on the said stone.

magnetic bearings and magnetic variation?
can someone please explain to me in simple terms what magnetic bearings and magnetic variation is in navigation? i am totally clueless lol
Is it better to use magnetic ball bearings or non magnetic ballbearings when using a gauss rifle?
I need to know if it would be possible to make a gauss rifle a deadly weapon for military purposes. I have been using steel ball bearings and I need to know fast if I should use magnetic ones.
Can someone explain and demonstrate the use of magnetic bearings?
Can someone explain and demonstrate the use of magnetic bearings + magnetic variation and ways of determining directions without a compass.
Where can you buy ball bearings/ magnetic balls?
Not Those types of balls, lol. I mean actual balls that can be used to demonstrate in physics?
Magnetic bearings are those taken in relation to the magnetic poles – the origin points of the Earth’s natural magnetic fields. This is slightly different from “true” bearings, which are taken in relation to the geographic poles, which are the poles on which longitude and latitude are based.
Because maps use true bearings, but compasses find magnetic bearings, you need to have a way of converting one to the other. Magnetic deviation is just a value (a few degrees) which tells you how much you need to adjust by to convert one to the other.
Where can I buy magnetic bearings?
I need to spin a wheel weighing a few pounds efficiently at high rpm (0-30,000). I would like to know if there are magnetic bearings which I could buy and how expensive they are. I also know there are different types of magnetic bearings and a passive type would be preferable, but I’m not sure if they are common or if magnetic bearings in general are not feasible for a hobbyist.
If magnetic bearings are infeasible or very expensive do you know of a good source for efficient and cheap mechanical bearings?
I have had little luck finding what I am looking for online on my own
eBay usually has plenty.
I found SKF’s web page.
What they have are not passive magnetic bearings.
They require a power source.
This FAQ about
Are Revolve’s magnetic bearings active or passive?
Revolve manufactures active magnetic bearings. The force in each bearing is the direct result of the active application of current in the electromagnet coils. In special circumstances, passive bearings have been used in conjunction with active bearings. An all passive system is theoretically not possible. Revolve uses an all active approach to maximize control of the rotating part.
I could not find a price.

I seem to remember, from years ago, that oil fed journal bearings could run at high speeds.
Included, is this for you, in case it might help.
Again, the Contact us link is there.

Hi Charlie,
Just use ordinary steel ball bearings, they will be OK..
