2012 Shift Stuff : Magnetic Field Reversal

Many scientists say yes and they say YES because it has happened many, many times before.
Is the gradual decrease in the earth’s magnetic field another sign of the times? Are we headed to a near zero magnetic field? Will there be longer days and nights, etc.? If we are looking at such an event which the likes of Gregg Braden affirm, then we're looking at three major events on the horizon.
1-Geological shifts will cause record setting seismic activity, new fault zones, and earthquakes unlike anything we've seen. Forget about it California! 
2-Meterrological weather patterns will be unlike anything we have to compare as well. Record rain falls, droughts, a shift in ocean currents upsetting the agricultural balances, and hurricanes from every direction.
3-Social unrest will be the end game as a result of the first two. Political and economic chaos will make the major recession that we're still in seem elementary. People are already buying up guns and ammunition as fast as they can.
It's easy to speculate and it's even easier to come up with wild ideas about this 2012 shift stuff; however, when renowned scientists begin to offer us the possibilities and probabilities with "scientific data" to back them up. It might be time to step back and think.
As the Hopi prophecies have said, "When the heart of man and the mind of man become so distant that they are no longer one, the Earth heals herself through the catastrophic events of change."
Is that what Mother Earth is doing?

How do electric and magnetic fields apply in building and launching of a satellite?
I know gravational fields and gravational force play a big part in the launching of satellites. However, do magnetic and electric field play any role?

A cyclotron is a device for accelerating charged particles to high speeds in circular orbits of ever-increasing radius. The charged particles are subjected to both an electric and magnetic field. One of these fields increases the speed of the particles, and the other field holds them in a circular path. Which field performs which function? Why?

The first thing that comes to mind is a concern of electromagnetic interference (EMI). There are always concerns that components that radiate energy will adversely affect signals being carried between other components or the operation of other components.

The force on a charged particle is
F = q(E + v x B)
where all these quantities, except q, are vectors and v x B is the vector product.
If B is perpendicular to the plane of the ring, the magnetic force is directed towards the centre and the particle moves in a circle. At various points around the ring it gets a ‘kick’ from the electric field which causes it to speed up. The magnetic field has to increase synchronously to keep the particle within the ring.
There was one person (who didn’t know anything about statistics) who went on a campaign that electric power lines caused cancer because there were a few people in her neighborhood who had developed cancer.
Despite the fact that it was determined that people who live near electric power lines develop cancer at similar rates to those people who do not – this created a popular perception that there is a danger.
