How To Make A Solar Generator Even If You Have Below Average Mechanical Skills!
Author: Thomas Hussey
Even if your mechanical skills are below average, you can still learn how to make a solar generator and be successful at it!
Don’t believe this is true?
For us beginners, the clear cut solution is this…
Get yourself some instructional videos that’ll show you what to do and how to do it!
You see, many beginners are always looking for printable PDFs of solar generator instructions. They think that PDFs alone can help them every step of the way.
Honestly I believe that PDF manuals are a terrible way for beginners to work out how to make a solar generator.
I know! I know! Manuals with step-by-step pictures may still help but I they aren’t sufficient enough for beginners with below average mechanical skills.
You also have to keep an eye out on one of those .90 solar power PDF manuals that have diluted the internet. Although to be frank, they are less of them available online these days.
A couple of years back; they were plenty of those aforementioned manuals and should you come across them, watch out!
Last time, I bought two different PDF manuals, one was priced at .90 and the other one was .90 and you know something?
These two manuals were useless for a beginner like me as they did not present the construction process in detail!
That’s why I believe that when it comes to learning about how to make a solar generator, beginners with below average mechanical skills should stick with instructional videos because not only do they provide the construction process in idiot-proof step-by-step detail, they also offer additional information on the wider aspects of electricity and solar power.

Is it possible to make solar panels for generating electricity out of everyday materials?
I have made a wind generator out of cheap, everyday materials.
Is it possible to make solar panels for generating electricity from everyday materials, perhaps something like a thermocouple with two different metals?
How do You Make a Solar Generator?
It’s for my project
can you make a solar generator this way?
i had a random idea, use a massive magnifying glass with the intense light spot pointed at water which evaporates from heat then turns a turbine, would it work??
Where can I find the best plans for making a solar generator capable of powering large…?
…appliances and electronics?
Plans must be available free online.
Can you make a residential/personal use solar generator from a 24-volt industrial solargizer?
I have a small supply of 24-volt industrial solargizers and am wondering if I can make a residential/Personal use solar generator from them?
There are a number of ways to get energy from the sun.
If you want to get the energy directly use a ‘solar cell’ that generate electricity.
If you want to use steam to drive a turbine, use optics to boils the water.
If you want to use the heat directly use a Stirling cycle engine, this has been done out west and seems to be successful.
Search ‘SunPower”
Good idea……
but think about the boiling point of water. Water will boil only at 100deg C. getting that much temperature by sun light is very very difficult my friend. To get the turbain to rotate 100s and 100s litters of water needs to be boiled.
your idea is good but it has lot of practical complications and limitations.
keep thinking such ideas and share it too. its good.
Then you have a small supply of a device that supplies a very small amount of electricity. Each one has only a rather small 4 x 5 ” solar panel I suppose if your “small” supply was about 100 of them and you had the equivilent of a 40″ by 50″ pannel you might reach somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 watts on a clear bright day. That would be enough energy to run a laptop or maybe a small blender. http://www.batterystuff.com/battery-restoration/24-volt/IS24L.html
Not unless you can figure out a way to produce a semi-conductor at home. Basically a solar cell (photovoltaic cell) is a couple of layers of silicon P type and N type. Electrons become excited when light quanta penetrates into the P layer. The excited electrons move to the N type and (very oversimplified) create electricity.
I doubt you would have the facilities to create the materials at home.
Using parts easily available from your local stores, you can make a solar power generator. Great for power failures and life outside the power grid. Have one in the office store-room in case of power failures in your highrise.
1. Buy yourself a small solar panel (25W or 40W).
2. Get the biggest deep-cycle 12-volt sealed gel-battery.
3. Get a battery box to put it in. (This is good for covering up the exposed terminals.)
4. To run AC appliances, invest in an inverter. This will convert the stored DC power in the battery into AC power for your household appliances. Count up the number of watts you’ll be using (Eg. a small color television = 60 watts with a VCR = 22 watts, you’ll need 82 watts).
5. Use insulated wire to attach the meter to the wingnut terminals on the battery. Connect the negative (-) pole first. Only handle one wire at a time.
6. Put the solar panel in the sun. It takes 5-8 hours to charge a dead battery; 1-3 hours to top-off a weak one. It will run radios, fans, and small wattage lights all night, or give you about 5 hours of continuous use at 115 volt AC.
Human Power Generator
The Human Power Generator is small, portable, and can be pedaled or cranked by hand to charge 12-volt batteries. The typical average continuous power that can be generated by pedaling the Human Power Generator is up to about 80 watts
