Fossil Fuels Are Non-Renewable Source Of Energy
Author: Richard Kaiser
Population problem is not only a problem or concern about the number of people. People consume food, freshwater, wood, minerals, & energy every day. The increasing energy consumption is leading to the depletion of conventional energy sources as well as increasing pollution.Alternative energy is often called energy from a source other than the conventional fossil fuel source like oil, natural gas & coal. Alternative energy is not popularly used & is usually environmentally sound. It is also sometimes renewable energy. Several alternative energy sources are solar, wind, biomass, wave & tidal energy.

They are currently reliant on fossil fuel & other non-renewable energy. This causes great harm to out environment & will also tremendously affect future generations. Most of the current population relies on non-renewable energy source such as oil, natural gas, fossil fuel & coal.
Fossil fuels are non-renewable source of energy, it means it could run out. Also, when fossil fuels are burnt they produce the gas carbon dioxide (CO2). Carbon dioxide is known as a greenhouse gas since it traps heat from the sun & preventing it from escaping out of the Earth's atmosphere in to space. The amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere is increasing. It leads to rising Earth temperature called global warming.
There's several countries that are providing incentives for private sector or personal efforts to use renewable energy by giving tax incentives & subsidies. Currently, 14 percent of the world's energy consumption comes from renewable energy sources. But there is great potential for alternative energy. It could be giant to cover lots of times the current energy consumption.

Alternative & renewable source of energy is therefore a necessity. Renewable energy is derived from resources that are regenerative or regenerate after consumption. For this reason, renewable energy unlike fossil fuels do not produce as lots of greenhouse gases.
Solar energy come from the sun's rays that reach the Earth. Solar energy can be converted in to heat & electricity. Solar energy can be converted to thermal or energy generated from heat. It can be used to heat water & heat spaces like inside greenhouses, homes & other buildings.
Several sources of renewable or also called alternative energy are sunlight, wind, rain, tides & geothermal heat. Wind energy comes from wind power that is generated from wind turbines. Wind energy are non-polluting energy source with low maintenance cost although the initial expense may be high.
Meanwhile, hydropower makes use of the energy the water gains when it drops in elevation. That is why hydropower plants are near waterfalls or dams. Hydropower has been used since the start of the electric age but unfortunately the value of this energy has not yet been developed & maximized.

Biomass energy comes from plants & animal material that are usable source of energy like wood from trees, waste from other plants, manure or animal wastes. Biomass energy has numerous benefits. It uses waste materials that are usually dumped & uses up methane gas (a greenhouse gas). Fuels like ethanol can be made from biomass & uses as an alternative to petrol.
These only show that they can pick alternative ways on using energy to lessesn its negative impact on our environment. Alternative energy sources provide us a choice for a bright & healthy future. It may something be out of the ordinary but it can also be useful
Another alternative energy source would be geothermal energy or energy derived from the underwater heat the world is emitting. Geothermal power plants are unaffected of changing weather conditions. It is also price competitive & helps the people's reliance on fossil fuels diminish.

Strictly speaking, the answer is E) none of the above. Fuel cells are made of things like platinum and proton exchange membranes derived from petroleum feedstocks. So the fuel cells themselves are made from non-renewable sources.
However, the fuel cell itself isn’t the energy resource, any more than is the engine you burn the gasoline. The hydrogen used to run the fuel cell is the resource. So let’s rewrite the question so that it’s asking what its asker presumably intended, and make it say B) hydrogen instead.
The answer it still E) none of the above. Ideally, you can get H2 from water, which is what the H2 turns into when you run it through the cell, so it would be renewable if that’s what we actually did. But we don’t. We still get H2 by heating the crap out of non-renewable fossil fuels, usually using non-renewable energy to run the reaction. So right now, hydrogen isn’t renewable.
Eventually it will be, but we need to invent far more efficient photovoltaic colar cells first. And before we can use it as a competitive energy source, we still need to increase efficiency and lower the cost of the fuel cells, and dramatically improve hydrogen storage capacity.
Whoever asked you the question thinks the answer is B). You should point out that the question needs to be rewritten before that’s actually true, and that simply waving your hands and saying “hydrogen = renewable = good” is a gross oversimplification of what’s actually going on in an energy economy.
93%.
Well the answers above about fuel sources is right. How ever trees and plants are not renewable or non renewable. This is because if we don’t help replace what we take it won’t come back. Especially if our consumption rate is higher than production.
About ninety-five percent of us die of starvation or cold, or heat or lack of medical care (no high tech hospitals ’cause there aint’ no electricity) or in the riots to see who gets what little is left.
Pretty picture ain’t it?
Of course, we may have come up with alternative sources of energy by then, and the brains to deploy them rather than waiting until the last minute. Or we may be wiped out by an asteroid.
Why am I so gloomy today? Must be all the other apocalyptic questions being posted.
Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources—such as sunlight[2], wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat—which are renewable (naturally replenished). Renewable energy technologies include solar power, wind power, hydroelectricity, micro hydro, biomass and biofuels.
http://www.eia.doe.gov/kids/energyfacts/sources/whatsenergy.html
Non-renewable energy is energy taken from “finite resources that will eventually dwindle, becoming too expensive or too environmentally damaging to retrieve”, [1] as opposed to renewable energy sources, which “are naturally replenished in a relatively short period of time.” [2]
Fossil fuels:
Coal exists as a mined solid.
Petroleum is a liquid, and forms the basis for heating oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline.
Natural gas is commonly also referred to just as gas. It is mostly methane, and most of the additional material is removed before use as a fuel.
Nuclear energy fuel for fission is mined as Uranium ore, see Renewable energy#Nuclear power.
Goodluck! Sometimes I agree science is BORING!
What will happen when we completely run out of non-renewable energy resources one day?
What percent of our energy comes from non-renewable energy resources?
It’s either:
75%
7%
100%
93%.
Thanks.
What is the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy resources? Example please.?
Non renewable energy resources include all of the following EXCEPT?
A* coal.
B* hydrogen fuel cells.
C* oil.
D* uranium.
What are renewable & non- renewable energy resources?
What are renewable energy resources? Give three examples
What are non-renewable energy resources? Give two examples
btw this is out of curiosity i never really listened in science… =]
