Perpetual motion/energy?
Okay all you boffins, I met this chap recently who claims he has invented a device that can produce power without a recognised fuel and will run at all times upon command. It is claimed that initially it will be used to power radios ( i.e. wind up radios without the wind up! ) and torches. The device, I gather, produces rotary motion that will run a generator to produce electricity. The patent is being applied for. He claims that engineered on a bigger scale, it will propel cars and the like, rising to propeller aircraft and even jet engines. I can only think that this man is a sheer genius or a raving idiot. My view is that any device that produces power without a recognised fuel can only produce low level power and will never replace conventional power sources, all of which are heavily dependent on fuel. Your opinions and ideas please?
PS Guys … I am merely an intrigued observer .. he claims someone is putting up the money! I am simply intrigued by the physics of it all and the wonderful claims from someone with zero academic ability!
People can claim that such things are impossible based on the laws of thermodynamics, but really, that misses the point that science is based on repeated experiments to determine these laws, and that over the hundreds of years since these ideas were formulated, there have been no exceptions – zero – never – to these ‘laws’. Not even once.
On the other side, to claim that we now know all that there is to know about the universe would be rather arrogant. There could be energy sources that we are not aware of.
But as one respondent noted above, there are many applications for patents for perpetual motion machines and similar devices every year. I knew a physicist who worked for the patent office doing nothing else but debunking such claims. He had lots of amusing stories.
I would suggest that it is extremely EXTREMELY unlikely that this man’s claims are genuine. If they have the slightest bit of merit whatsoever, he will become one of the most famous men in history. Why, he can stand up right alongside the man who recently invented a calculator that will come up with the winning number for every lottery. Gosh!
Where is free energy? Magnetic motors, hydrogen motors, perpetual motion generators?

Dynamite explodes at a certain yield…
The sweat from dynamite creates a yield 1000x that of its parent dynamite- thats called nitro glycerin. This is not perpetual motion. This is not an eternal energy source. It is the yield and the use of the element that makes its worth. I have already described this. You run out of water you run out of HHO… But just fill it back up with water ok.

NOT USEFUL: thought: two black holes, one above the other, drop the ball down the bottom one, it comes out the top one and goes back throught the bottom one and around and around again, even if this amazing feat could be achieved, how could you harness the energy.. (needless to say if you could produce two “worm holes” you probably aint gonna bother dropping a metal ball down one for you amusement..(though you never know , could be a desk ornament by the year 4006,

The third notes that friction exists, so entropy does increase

This kind of stuff is still not mass marketed mainly because of skepticism around the world, I have personally found magnetic energy generators to be the best option for alternative energy.
They require no light, no wind or grid electric to even start, and once they are working they don’t stop for years to come.

in order for both black holes to exist in a proximity that would allow this fictional ball to travel between them (even though it would be compressed to infinitly small partical each time it passed thorough one) they would have to be equally sized and opposite as the ball would have to escape the gravitation acceleration of one black hole inorder to enter the gravitation pull of the other. if there where three or more black holes spaced far enough apart so that thier gravitational pull would not act on each other causing them to collapse, then they could be situated in a circular orientation which would allow the ball to travel through one and accelerate toward the next.
While this occurs; will the ball approach the speed of light inturn turn the infintly small particle into a infinity large partical beause the energy would exponentially increase?
The ball gets compressed by the gravitational forces of the black hole…but the velocity increases and therefore causes the energy to increase????

My research has led me to this.
A 9volt battery ran through a relay, through a step-up transformer into a capacitor back to the 9volt has made 27volts. I changed a 9volt into a 27volt in less than a minute.
And you said I couldn’t make enough electricity to get electrolysis to work…
My imagination leads me to letting my car sit for 5 minutes building gas, and for giving physics that 5 minutes, I could run my car for a half hour or more before it dies. in effect this is not perpetual motion at all… instead of having a gas tank full of fuel, I’m putting in “time”. fancy concept.

Not possible, as DC from a battery cannot be stepped up via a transformer. But so what? voltage is not energy or power, it’s just potential. I can step up 9 volts through an inverter to thousands of volts. It means nothing.
PS, i don’t call it “perpetual energy”, I call it a scam.
