    teacher trouble is there anyway to help?
    okay…we have this teacher, he is the nicest person ever. he does everything for us. he would stay until 6 at night, come early in the morning, skip lunch, spend hours and hours at home making reviews and power points at home, spend hundreds of dollars on candy and food to play games that help us learn, or just to encourage us.
    but one thing about him is he use to be an engineer, just went into teacher for one year. he cant control the class because he is really too nice and too kindhearted. our class was so bad. at least once a week the vice principal had to come in and yell at us. my teacher gets into so much trouble with the school, he gets slips and stuff. but he was always still nice to us and happy to teach us. today i find out, because of us, he cant teach science in the second semester. tomorrow is our exam, today we went to him for help, he was still so happy to teach us. i feel so bad. my exam is tomorrow and i cant concentrate on studying, all i think about is him. is there anyway i can help him? and is there anyway i can concentrate on studying and then help him after the exam?
    sorry this is so long thanks for reading though
    i would love to apoligize, but he doesnt know that we know he isnt allowed to teach science anymore. i dont think he wants us to know. i really to want to find a way to make it up to him, or to get him back, please, does anyone know a way?? second semester starts in a week..

    i was making an electromagnet with very simple components which are soft iron core, suitable insulated wires, and a radio shack lead acid battery for high amp(A)…..(12volt 7amp)(http://www.radioshack.com/pwr/product-reviews/Power-Batteries/Home-office-power/Home-security-power/RadioShack/p/2049668-12-Volt-7Ah-Lead-Acid-Alarm-Battery.html)
    so are there any electric hazards in just wrapping up the iron core with the wires and placing the wires in the 2 terminals in that kind of battery without any other electric components?

    the above link is the home theater system I currently have. a bit of background info, I bought it at Costco on sale for about $200. and that was when it first came out. so I use this MAINLY for music, i use it to play loud music and i LOVE bass. so the subwoofer has to hit those LOW frequencies. i have MA AUDIO in my truck for subwoofers and my amp. but should I keep the stereo I currently have, or buy this one. the one im thinking on getting is the link below.

    All the reviews seem to say the same thing; that you will save some money, but not enough to make it worth buying the product. But don’t you have to actually try something first before you can really review it? It sounds like people are just being discouraged from purchasing a product that could potentially save a considerate amount of money on their monthly utility bills. The Power-Save recycles the power lost from inductive loads by storing it in its capacitors. So instead of those loads drawing from the utility, it draws any additional power needed directly from the Power-Save. People with a 600 square foot home may not see a use for such a product, but there are homes out there quadrupling that size that may benefit from this product.

    No, there’s no electrical hazard in just winding the wires around a soft iron core and connecting to the terminals. If you have alligator tooth connectors or jumper cable style connectors, or perhaps slip-under-screw connectors, those would be vastly preferable to simple wrapping and taping, since the impedance on those kind of connectors is much lower than a simple wrapping.

    Note that when you hook up the battery to the winding/core, you may cause an arc and the voltage will spike momentarily because the electromagnet components are in reality an inductor. If you understand basic calculus, then the voltage across the inductor is V = L (dI/dt), where L is the inductance (a little more complicated to explain, but soft iron core + lots of winding + thin core + long = high inductance), I is current, V is voltage, and dI/dt is the rate of change of the current — when you hook up the inductor to the battery, current will go up rapidly, so voltage across it will spike and you may get an arc across the connection (only lasts about a millisecond, but the voltage is high). So just be careful when you hook it up. Or better yet, use a switching device of some kind.

    Well the theory behind balancing inductive with capacitive loads has been known for about 130 years. The power company does this all the time.. Look up a power pole in an industrial neighborhood and you’ll see some rectangular boxes– capacitors, to null out some of the many inductive motor loads in industry.

    Their video is HIGHLY MISLEADING! They show a motor drawing 5.8 amps before power saves, and only 2 amps after switching on the power saver. Which is true, as far as it goes.

    What they do NOT show you, because it would make their sales go down to near zero, is if you put a load on the motor, it will draw its rated 6 amps with or without “power saver”.

    That is, “power saver 1200″ only saves power under unrealistic conditions– when there is no load on the motor.

    — And the price is ridiculous– they’re charging about 10x the cost of capacitors.

    And oh, they’re using the wrong kind of “power meters” in their demo. A real power meter would show actual watts, not the apparent volts times amps, which are a whole other kettle of fish. They’re using cheap and misleading meters, that’s the only way they can demonstrate “savings”.

    The actual power meter on your house is an actual real wattmeter, so it won’t show a 6 amp load with a free-wheeling motor. The power company has been using real wattmeters for about 100 years. People do not like paying for apparent power.
