Tips For Reducing Electric Bills Using Renewable Energy

If anyone needs tips for reducing electric bills it is the current homeowner. Faced with a huge electric bill each and every month is would seem there is no way to avoid it. Fortunately, there are now tips for reducing electric bills available.

When word was spread that fossil fuels were disappearing and that they were harmful to the atmosphere as well, the government, together with scientists and engineers, joined together to try to find another source of energy. As a result, we now have solar panels, wind power and biofuel. All of these things produce the energy that is needed for electricity, power and other things.

Everything is being done, at the present time, to turn ordinary things in to energy. Gases from sewer plants and land fills have been converted into electricity in many places. Biofuel from plants and animal manure are producing a form of gas which is used to power electric plants and so forth.

A home uses a lot of electricity for heat and also for heating hot water and this adds up to a large electric bill. This can be completely eliminated with the use of solar panels. These panels have been developed to such a degree that a great deal of money is saved by using sunlight which has no cost.

One can have electricity as well as heated water using these panels. The hot water that is usually used in a home is tremendous and is a large part of the electric bill. Imagine getting that for free.

There are many different companies now in the business of solar panels. They will have information about state laws regarding their use. Prices vary so it pays to shop around although one will find the panels and installation is usually rather expensive. However, if it means no more of these bills it will not be long before they pay for themselves. Tips for reducing electric bills include using these panels.     There are two questions. The latter one is whether a Revived Battery is considered “renewable energy” by most people.

    Revived Batteries are (err, were) dead batteries that were destined for shredding (recycling) and which we rescued, so our cost is nil. The process of reviving batteries costs less than $10 per battery.

    A revived battery will last nearly as long as a new one. We can revived batteries approximately 5 more time, based on experience. A weak/dead battery can usually be revived to double its range in an electric vehicle. (Used them for over 3 years on ebikes and escooters.)

    In your opinion, if there are benefits, how good are the benefits, in respect to alternative energy, in a scale of 1 to 10?

    How much energy-reduction is achieved by battery revival, as opposed to letting dead batteries be shredded?

    Don’t let the doubts here about ‘renewable energy’ get you down. Electric vehicles definitely save energy and reduce pollution, even if powerplants burn some fossil fuels. So any action to encourage EV use is an action to curtail climate change.

    First of all, not all electricity comes from polluting sources. Secondly, large plants burn fuel more efficiently than individual cars do. And energy delivery via the electrical grid is 95% efficient, which beats the wasted energy of trucking gas to thousands of service stations. And finally, EVs have motors which are far more efficient than gas engines. Greater efficiency means less energy, and less pollution per mile driven, regardless of what fuel gets burned.

    A source of cheap recycled batteries makes the EV equation even better, as the cost of replacing batteries is one of the only maintenance costs an EV driver has to worry about.

    Wind, solar, geothermal, hydrogen, and biomass are considered sources of renewable energy. The only person I am aware of who is actively, financially pursuing any of these renewable energy sources is T. Boone Pickens. He has put his money where everyone elses mouth is.

    Al Gore talks a good talk, but he has yet to put any of his money into helping anyone but himself. He has installed “solar” panels on his house; but, he hasn’t offerred to raise funds to put these panels on anyone elses house. When he was Vice President, a position which he could have used to promote solar energy, he did nothing. He made no speeches about Global Warming, even though Global Warming must have been going on while he was Vice President.

    You can bet your sweet bippie that the United States Government, which includes your senators and representatives, will not be addressing renewable energy until there is money to be made or they can control those who are trying to use “renewable” energy.

What they have is huge circular tanks – like donuts – containing thousands of electric eels. The eels can only swim in one direction. Around the tanks are massive coils of copper wire. The EMF from the eels induces current to flow and thus generates power. One tank can generator enough for 5000 households.
    I know we need to have renewable energy but don’t you think this is a cruel way to do so?

    The truth is that electric eels generate electricity to catch prey or to defend themselves, not all the time. Shocking, isn’t it?

    I think it all depends. Are the animals in pain? Is the tank big enough for them to swim comfortably? Are they given enough food? How is it that they force the animals to only swim one direction?

    If the animals are happy and not in pain, I don’t think I see the problem with harnessing their natural power (electric current generation) and putting it to use, unless you are against keeping fish in any sort of aquarium, in which case I could see the objection.

    I’m actually really interested in this, is the article that you are talking about online anywhere? I couldn’t find it after a quick google search. Would you be able to post a link with more information please?

    Geothermal energy:- the rocks below about 500m are warmer than the earth’s surface because they are heated by the magma beneath. If you can pipe cold water down to those rocks and then back up once it has warmed, you can convert the heat into useful energy such as steam or electricity.

    Tidal energy:- The moon pulls the water of the oceans around the globe as the earth spins and, since it is fluid, it can change shape more than the solid rocks. This creates a regular powerful flow of water in and out of any shorline. The energy in that flow of water can be harnessed with suitable machines to generate electricity.

    Wind energy:- The atmosphere is turbulent, as a result of the changing effect of the sun as the Earth spins heating and cooling different parts. This causes air to expand where it gets warm and shrink where it gets cool, and generally move about in a constant effort to balance itself out. As a result the movement can be used to push the blades of a wind turbine to generate electricity or pump water or even grind corn into flour.

    Hydro-electric energy:- By trapping rivers behind dams, a large amount of energy can be stored up. When the water is released through a turbine, it makes the turbine rotate and generate electicity. Most dams rely on the natural flow of the water in the river, but some are able to pump water back up into the lake at the top. By doing this, they can store electrical energy generated elsewhere when it is not needed (such as by intermittent renewable sources) for use when it is.

    Wave energy:- In the same way that wind is produced, the waters of the oceans are turbulent and restless. They are also driven in an endless series of waves by winds across the surface. The energy in these waves can be harnessed to generate electricity in a variety of different ways. Simple floats can transfer their up and down motion to a generator. Linked barriers can us the flexing of the joints between them. Pipes can use the force of the wave to drive a flow of air back and forth past a turbine.

    You also appear to have missed solar energy, which comes in three general forms. Solar hot water heating warms up water in pipes painted black to absorb as much of the sun’s energy as possible. Photovoltaic cells convert photons directly into electricity using technology similar to the silicon chips in your computer or the special photo chip in your digital camera. Concentrating solar systems use mirrors and lenses to focus all the sunlight over a large area onto a small point, where the energy can be converted easily into steam or electricity.

    Renewable energy is important because it doesn’t use any of the earth’s scarce resources. All of the energy derives from the sun or the earth’s molten core, both of which are effectively inexhaustible. By contrast, there is a limit to how much oil, gas, coal and even Uranium we can find in the earth, and when they run out (as some people think they might soon) we will have to figure out what else to use.

    Perhaps more importantly, fossil fuels (oil, gas and coal, so named because they are the fossilised remains of lifeforms that lived millions of years ago) are known to damage the earth’s atmosphere. The Carbon they contain is released as carbon dioxide when they are burned. Carbon dioxide is useful for plants, but if there is too much of it, the planet starts to heat up, since it adds to the natural warming of the planet called the Greenhouse Effect.

    Many people, including virtually all the scientists who have studied it, now predict that if we continue to burn fossil fuels at the rate we are, we will cause too much warming too rapidly, which will make the turbulence in the atmosphere more likely to be violent, and which will disrupt weather patterns (when weather follows regular patterns it is called Climate, which is why many people refer to this as climate change, rather than global warming) and push vulnerable species to extinction. If it gets bad enough, entire ecosystems could collapse and many of the things we rely on for food will be more difficult to grow.

    Who is working on the renewable energy problem?
    Can you imagine a green home power plant that was practical enough that every home could install one….wow no more transmission lines no more electric companies…

    when i saw a commerical about the car that ran on water…i immediatly wanted one of those cars just to tear out the engine to connect to a generator and finnaly cut my power line to EDISON. but it was a hoax…damn.
