  1. Kiwi says:

Is mechatronics engineering applied in renewable energy sector?
I am a mechatronics student and I would like to apply my education in a project related to renewable energy.
I have a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. Mechatronics is my postgrad study. Maybe that’s why I am directed towards energy applications for mechatronics.

  2. Quasi says:

What is the basic finance I need in starting a business most likey in the renewable energy sector?
solar, wind and geothermal to be precise.
What i mean is the finance processes like cash flow generation and the like not the actual financial outlay.

  3. Anjaree says:

The developed countries have been forced to develop the alternative energy sector, including wind and sunlight. The wind turbines have been set in full scale in Germany and England. In the US, it is the priority of the present administration to use the alternative energy. In developing countries, renewable energy sources such as the waste from agriculture, water turbine, and sunlight have been set to be a priority.Only one country will continue to build nuclear reactors in full scale without thinking of climate changes or health concern of its people. It is China.

  4. K says:

what is the potential effects of the current economic crisis on the renewable energy sector?
effects of the current economic crisis on the renewable energy sector

  5. ManuS says:

Hold any investments in the energy sector. If this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steorn happens to be true, it will change everything.

  6. nanda kumar says:

looking small business opportunities in renewable energy sector?

  7. The Guru says:

So as to have a million left over to take to an off shore tax haven get 2 Mill to start off the business. Shouldn’t take you long to loss half of it in that venture.

Renewable energy won’t make money until the US signs up for Carbon tax

  8. bestonnet_00 says:

Nothing, renewable energy is a waste of money that would be better spent on nuclear (a developing country needs cheap and reliable energy, not expensive and unreliable, and cheap and reliable would be much better served by a PBMR than by a wind turbine).

It’s important if you want to save the environment to realise that renewable energy isn’t up to the job of powering a modern technological civilisation, that makes it useless in the western world (unless you own stocks in fossil fuel companies which would be negatively affected should we switch away from fossil fuels which won’t happen so long as people believe that wind and solar are the answer) and useless for brining the developing world up to first world standards.

Instead when wind and solar are promoted as the next power sources coal power plants get built (and natural gas which is only twice as good as coal), look at all the coal power plants Germany has planned to see how good renewable energy is (hint, they have a lot of them planned).

  9. Xavier says:

What should the private sector do to support adoption of renewable energy?
Specially in developing countries, but all opinions and suggestions are welcome!

  10. amansscientiae says:

Hardly. Mechatronics is mostly used in the entertainment industry. As far as I can tell the mains application is mostly a high tech version of puppeteering.

If you want to go into renewable energy, you might want to study chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering instead and specialize appropriately.
