Solar Energy Generators - Going Green is Finally Affordable

Author: Sean Kessen

Solar energy generators are great products to have in your homes. Not only are they affordable, but they are economic too. These are two reasons why homeowners have been switching over to solar power.

Solar energy generators come in a variety of types, sizes, and prices. Many wonder why everyone hasn't switched to solar power yet.

They are usually bought by those who have a lot of power outages. They were made for those specific times initially. Now people buy them to save some money as well. Power outages are usually caused by storms and occur mostly in the dark and cold winter months. The power outages could last for days or weeks, which means that you will not be able to see what you are doing at night, some food and drinks may spoil, and sometimes you have no way to stay warm until the power company comes to fix it.

When you have a solar generator, instead of worrying about the electricity being out, all you have to do is switch it on and you have instant electricity all over again. Solar energy generators do not run on electrical energy, but instead run on sunlight. This way you can have your power restored in no time.

One good thing about having a generator is that it uses solar energy and converts it into electrical energy, so that you can run your appliances or your entire house off of it. Another good thing is the fact that you do not have to pay for the gas to keep the generator running.

Since the solar energy generators run off of solar energy, you will have to put solar panels either on your roof or in your yard, whichever place gets the best and most sunlight. The panels collect solar energy and stores it in a battery for later use. This is why you will never run out of power.

There is also an inverter inside some generators in case you want to switch the DC power of the battery to AC power. You should look to see if your appliances are AC or DC powered before you choose a generator that has an inverter inside.

Keep in mind that solar energy generators are built to last a long time, which means that you will not have to worry about replacing it five to ten years down the road.

I’ve just started looking at solar myself, here’s a link to a site that seems to have some reasonably priced systems:

Maybe there will be information that will help, I’m a novice myself so I’m not sure what exactly you are looking for.

Does anyone have any leads on backup solar generators?
I want to purchase a solar powered backup generator in the event that we have a power outage. I don’t want a gas/diesel generator as I don’t want to have to fight everyone else to get gas for a generator. I’ve been only able to find one solar generator that would seem to work for my home. Any suggestions?

if i buy land in CA with only a well and then place a solar trailer-home on it, could i reappraise it for?
any equity? Assuming it is desirable land with a beautiful view visible from a very stylish “home” and discrete “trailer.” Also assuming much landscaping and road work was I’m proved and the trailer included all utilities and appliances and solar system and back up generator and shed, etc. Will the bank give me equity, and if so, how much less than the identicle house on a perminent foundation?

What are best wind and solar powered generators?
This would be for a residential area and need to comply to fire and other safety regulations. I want to generate electric power for home and electric vehicles.

  5. Big Deal Maker says:

Considerable Less, banks will give out short term loans on trailers on land. Since it can be moved at any time. Hince the words mobile home.
home improvements, building a new home, Additions would be better suited for a loan from the bank. And will bring more value to you.

Have you considered building your own?

Resources and parts to build them are pretty common place these days. There is lots of info around on how to do this.

Where to buy an affordable Solar System in Saudi Arabia?
Does anyone knows where to buy an affordable Solar Energy Generator for the use of homes or remote farms in Saudi Arabia? I would appreciate solutions in the Eastern part of Saudi better. Does anyone knows if the technology now is practical in Saudi and do you have any information on people who have used these on small scales like homes?

  8. Ken G says:

You’re asking a difficult question only because the technology is improving each month. What is the best today probably won’t be the best next year. For wind power you will need a wind availibility survey describing the average wind conditions throughout the year for your locality. Every homesite is a bit different. To establish a cost/benefit analysis your first have to know how much wind energy is available.

  9. Lucyt says:

can you use solar panels and wind turbines together?
for my science homework we have to come up with ways of providing electricity for homes in the year 2030.
i was thinking in some areas you could use solar panels to power homes in the day and wind turbines for the night(because solar panels don’t work at night). i was wondering if it is possible to power the same home with these 2 different electricity generators??

    thank you :D

I don’t see why not. Shouldn’t be too hard to do from an engineering standpoint and it seems like a great idea to me. I’ve been wondering about that same thing myself. Among other things, clouds often come with storms, which come with a lot of wind.
Found a page by someone who says he did it, but don’t know anything else about the page.
I would also talk to the green building council– they would definitely know.
The DOE is another source that might be useful.
