You’ve got the magnetic areal flux (B), you’ll need the surface area of the star (the mass is unimportant), and from those two you can calculate the total magnetic field strength.
Solar, man. That comes from the sun….hence the title “solar”.
I hope we are able to find out what it will be like to be off fossil fuels! Every time we fill our fuel tanks we are supporting some of the people who want to kill us!
Would we be in Iraq and the Middle east? Good question! If we had never been Dependant on oil the mid east would still be poor and living in tents. Since we made them rich with our demand for oil they are attacking us, and we are fighting back.
Dwight D. Eisenhower dreamed of Nuclear energy powering everything and being too cheap to meter. If we hadn’t of been so afraid of nuclear accidents, we may have never needed mid east oil.

This is palpably false! “Unprecedented”? The cycle of solar flares has gone on for billions of years and there is absolutely _no_ reason to believe that future levels will be any higher than past levels. No scientist has predicted this. We are more vulnerable to solar activity because of our greater dependence on electronics and satellites, but we are also more aware of the problems. Proof of this is that we have gone though nearly two cycles whole solar cycles without incident since the last major power outage caused by solar activity in 1989. That’s 21 years ago!
The concept of the magnetic field isn’t the same as the concept of a magnet in your hand attracting some metals to it.
So, the magnetic field of Earth won’t attract anything, actually it does prevent some harmful radiation from reaching Earth. Now, this being said, we come to gravity which is the force that attracts two bodies to each other, and its related to the mass of the body, that is the higher the mass the higher the gravitational pull the body has (its also related to the distance, it decreases with increasing of the distance between two bodies). Anyways, simply put, its physically impossible for Earth attracting another planet for few simple reasons. First of all, there is the Sun, which alone has about 99% of the mass in the solar system, so all the other bodies orbit it. The Earth, though it has the moon orbiting it, but its far away from attracting other planets cause it doesn’t have the enough mass, and its not accreting mass, usually as proto-stars do. Even if you wanna add the mass added from asteroids and meteorites hitting Earth, still the percentage of those is so little and irrelevant in this situation.
One last thing, we can’t increase the Earth magnetic field. This field is being generated by the Earth’s iron core.. and there is no way to influence it..
