do you think its time for a Manhattan type project is done concerning solar power or other renewable energy?
that is a goverment type group to find a real solution to the energy crisis, i dont believe in global warming, but i think everybody can agree some day there will be no oil,
we developed the abomb in a few years doing it that way
fund it till they get a efficant way of energy and then make it a public trust type deal anyone can use it and devolope it further

i did not know that about kerry, but i was out of the country for 2 years at the time good for him, i think it needs to be about energy solutions though, that has a quantifiable result, where as global warming im my opinion isnt about finding a source but would end up being solutions put into law and i dont agree with what would come from that

You can use renewable energy sources since it can be replenished in a short period of time. A the same time you can help the environment. And the best is it will never run out of sources of renewable energy as long as humans will exist. Okay, I don’t think anyone’s taken this seriously yet, so…
How about, hydro-electric, geothermal steam, wind turbines, augmentative passive solar, such as water heating and daylighting (somwhat different then solar lighting, or skylighting, although skylights count.) Also let’s not forget rain harvesting, and gray-water usage.these save water, and energy from a treatment, billing, delivery standpoint.
Now that I asnwered the name other part: challenges, what happens when there is no sun/wind/water-flowing, if you have all of these, it won’t happen that often, but when it does, are batteries a practical solution? Won’t they eventually wind up in land-fill off-gasing? If you only use one or two of the 3 majors, what about when any of those aren’t available? Availability is still a big concern, hopefully that will be the next stock-market bubble and drive a massive influx of green-products.
The common challenges with non-renewables, rather than starting from an environmental standpoint, how about we start with what they’re called. NON-RENEWABLE, eventually we will run out. It’s theorized that we’ve found all oil on earth, and will start a downward turn on production by somtime in 2008 or 2009. Aside from that, there’s the obvious global warming issues.

Yes! You can get both state and federal tax breaks. As part of the “bailout” plan of 2008, Congress extended the federal solar rebate for 8 years. Under the new law, both businesses and homeowners get a 30% rebate for the cost of the system in the form of a federal tax credit. If your system cost $45,000, for example, you would pay $45,000 and get a $15,000 credit on your federal income taxes the next year.
Great idea, it’s time to wage a major effort to seek other sources of energy and ween ourselves from fossil fuels. Also time to stop kissing the back sides of these countries that keep us at bay with oil…
