Steam Power Generators

Power Plant Steam Generators ...

Have you read your Hoover steam cleaner instructions yet

Author: Bill Jeninks

Some customers claim, after using the Hoover steam cleaner, that it leaks. They haven't however, read the manual and in consequence they haven't used the machine properly. When you get familiar with the manual, you will find out that the solution to the mentioned issue is quite simple and requires a one-time setup procedure to squeeze the trigger and push the Clean-Surge button to lock a rod into place.

That's why it is essential that you read the Hoover steam cleaner instructions to take full advantage of your new cleaning device and to prevent any potential damage caused by misusing the equipment.

Here are some important facts you need to know.

Important Safeguards

Hoover carpet cleaner is not a traditional vacuum cleaner, therefore you should use it only on surfaces moistened by the cleaning process or small spills. You should also pay attention to what kind of dirt will be picked up by the cleaner. Avoid hard and sharp objects, anything that is hot and burning and toxic materials. They can all damage the cleaner.

To ensure long life of the Hoover steam cleaner and its best performance, make also sure you use accessories and detergents recommended by the Hoover.

Just before cleaning

As mentioned above this home steam cleaner is not a dry vacuum cleaner. In order to clean the carpet from larger objects you need to use the traditional vacuum.

Prepare also the space you are going to clean by removing furniture and other equipment, so that the whole carpet is cleaned and doesn't give the impression that some parts are new and others old. You should also protect wood floors while cleaning. It is particularly important, as the Hoover steam cleaner might damage them, unless you have extra Hoover accessories for cleaning such surfaces.

Just before cleaning, fill clean solution tank with proper detergent and with previously preheated water

While Cleaning

Before you turn the carpet cleaner on, you need to adjust speed selector choosing either:

LO for gentle cleaning or

HI for normal cleaning.

Afterwards you will plug the cord and turn carpet cleaner on by stepping on a handle release pedal. Now all you need to do is to properly alternate slowly pushing and pulling the equipment forward while releasing cleaning solution and pushing and pulling the carpet cleaner forward without releasing the solution over area just sprayed with solution. To obtain the best results and to let the carpet dry faster use more dry strokes.

After Cleaning Tips

After cleaning, let your carpet dry. Avoid walking on it or moving furniture onto it. If you need to, put a towel and walk on it or put any material under the legs of furniture.

Clean the equipment by rinsing the tanks with clear water. Let them air dry. Remove debris from recovery tank filter and rinse with clean water.

When dry, assemble all the parts and store the cleaner in a dry place.

  1. Andi Lynn Martin says:

    How do electric generators at power plants work?
    Generators using steam turbines and fossil fuel, coal, oil, nuclear fuel, wind, hydro fuel, solar fuel, and tidal movement.

  2. Stan S says:

    Could mirrors reflecting and focusing sunlight be used to make steam to power electric generators?
    And could insulated water tanks be large enough to retain enough super heated water to generate steam to power the generators be used to act as a buffer so that through the night and on low light days electricty production would be steady without varible output allowing for steady production 24/7/365 if it was sited properly? Would this greatly lessen solar powers twin main faults of expense and inconsistency without the need to wait for cheaper batteries or new more affordible photovoltaic solar panels to be invented or built?

  3. Ken M says:

    Estimating Cogeneration Power Plants?
    I’ve just started working for a company that specializes in landfill gas to energy, exhaust heat to steam power generators and gassification of coal. I am looking for a means to estimate installed cost of this technology.

    How to convert steam back to water quickly?
    I am working on a green source energy project.A solar powered steam generator.I need some idea for how to cool the steam back to water quickly? and turn the water back to the steamer again.That way i don’t have to refill the steamer with water all the time.Any idea?
    Somebody is not getting it.Here is how.
    Water + solar heated lens ->steam
    Steam->generator
    Used steam ->water
    water->Lens steamer
    Hope this help

    Yes.

    Here is a link to an article about a power plant in Spain which does just that:
    http://petrochemical.ihs.com/news-07Q2/eu-en-solar-plant-spain-4-07.jsp

    It is an 11-megawatt plant. These things are very feasible.

    It will produce more than 300 megawatts by 2013.

    It uses lots of mirrors to reflect and concentrate light at a single spot to heat water to drive turbines to create electricity.

    €5 million was awarded to the project project because of its highly innovative approach by the EU.

    An interesting (and low cost) demo of this can be done with a small electric motor out of a toy (or can buy at Radio Shack) and a small 1.2 volt flashlite bulb.
    Attach the bulb to the wires on the motor. Put a fan/propeller cut from cardboard (or my favorite was the prop from a balsa rubber band airplane) on the motor shaft. Blow on the propeller. The bulb will light. In power stations they substitute steam, water, wind, burning gases for your breath, but it’s doing the same thing!

    The initial cost is all infrastructure since the gas in the landfill is free, all you’ll need is the cost of laying the perforated pipe through the landfill as it fills up, labor+material, then you’ll need to get the price of the extraction, cleaning and generating equipment plus the labor for installation.

    Let’s assume that you are using groundwater as your source. One way to do this is to pump the ground water through a condenser that receives the heater water from the boiler. The hot water from the boiler preheats the cooler ground water before it enters the boiler, and the cooler water that has already been through the boiler and the condenser is discharged into the environment or used for other purposes.
