KidWind has partnered with Humdinger Wind Energy to bring Windbelt technology to teachers and students around the world! Based on a Popular Mechanics award winning design, the Windbelt takes wind power experiments in an entirely new direction - instead of spinning a shaft, the Wind Belt uses a vibrating belt to provide the motion in a simple electric generator.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Regular box and circular fans will not be strong enough to power the Windbelt. A steel fan is required for the Windbelt to work. Fans need to have a wind speed of 15 mph or 7m/s. The Windbelt measure 2" square and 21" long.
